When you're craving a burger so good it shows up in your dreams, rush over to Filipino-American Chef Alvin Cailan's new hotspot in BGC, Greenlight Burgers.
If there's one chef you'd trust to make a magnificent burger, it's Cailan. His Amboy Quality Meats & Delicious Burgers, well-known in Los Angeles' Chinatown, was recently dubbed No. 24 in the 2025 ranking of the World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants. Aside from this, Cailan brings to Greenlight Burgers kitchen and business skills honed by his famous Eggslut chain in LA, world-famous gourmet burger chain Umami Burger, and California-based burger joint Pan Da Sal's.
The compact interior of Greenlight Burgers—it can only comfortably sit 12 at a time—actually elevates the experience of enjoying one of Cailan's burgers. Everything is done from scratch, but the particular genius of these burgers is in how the patties are cooked: flattened edges with a slight dome in the center, the result is a juicy patty with crispy edges.
Cailan keeps the menu small and laser-focused, offering burgers with single and double patties in thick or thin variants. Then, there are the three sauces to pick from. Owing to the restaurant's name, the sauces are identified by traffic light colors. The red sauce contains sun-dried tomato paste, fish sauce or patis, muscovado sugar, apple cider vinegar, mayonnaise, and a touch of mustard. For the yellow sauce, Cailan mixes dijon mustard with miso, muscovado sugar, and mayonnaise. If you'd like something zestier, opt for the green sauce, which has a mix of tarragon, cilantro, chives, and lemon juice.
Greenlight Burgers is located at West Gallery Place, Bonifacio Global City. It's open from 12 to 4 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 12 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. They may close early when burgers run out. Watch for the exterior lights—green means they're open; red means burgers are sold out for the day or they're closed.
