Runway & Rosé, Couture & Cuisine
It was a fashion show set against the sun-drenched vibe of Malibu that redefined chic.
Cuisine fused with couture in the most unforgettable way. Puey Quiñones’ Fall 2025 Holiday Collection fashion show at Mastro’s Malibu Ocean Club last Nov. 2 sashayed out of the traditional runway.
The LA-based Filipino designer gave his friends and patrons an immersive fashion show that turned a coastal restaurant into a fashion editorial while the ocean breeze gently flirted with the table linen and the sun’s rays bounced on champagne flutes. A new kind of fashion moment unfolded.
“It was couture in conversation,” says an awed spectator. “And how it made a statement. Models didn’t walk past the guests. They walked with them, weaving through tables, brushing shoulders, and turning heads. Puey and his amazing team saw to it that fashion was felt, not just seen. And Malibu provided the perfect canvas of sunlight, style, and spontaneity.”

Puey said that true to his promise, the show was “an abundance of cashmere knitwear, ostrich feathers and faux fur as well as cashmere wool and silk.”
Puey’s inspiration was the soap opera character Dominique Deveraux’s aesthetics. Whether it was romantic minimalism, soft power, textured chic, overtones of midnight and metallics, or ruffles with mischief, the collection became an art installation in motion.

According to Puey, each look was a clear nod to Dominique Deveraux’s unapologetic aura and commanding presence, and to her signature style. Pearls, power silhouettes, executed with polished drama. These pieces don’t just dress the body, they declare identity.

Puey, the creative force behind all this, staged this event with the intent to help revive the buzz and spirit of the area after the devastating fires that left this part of the West Coast quiet for months.
With venues like Mastro’s only recently reopening, this show marked a stylish step toward healing and renewal.

Mastro Ocean Club’s coastal charm with its wooden beams, glass framed walls, and panoramic windows created a backdrop that elevated every look.
“This event didn’t just curate clothes, it celebrated possibilities, proving that fashion doesn’t always have to be about velvet ropes and flashing lights. It is also about personal connection. Malibu’s brunch show was a celebration of that connection between designer and diner, model and moment,” says Puey.

Through this show, Puey Quiñones LA carved out a new kind of Malibu memory. It was a reminder that runways could be the lane beside you, between the rosé and the risotto...
