Demi Lovato opened up about what it's like to go back to her Camp Rock roots in her new role as executive producer for the third installment.

During her guest appearance on the Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce podcast, Lovato had the chance to talk about her experience revisiting the franchise behind the camera.

"We are making way for the new generation to shine their light as bright as they are. And it’s just really exciting to see a new generation step into the footsteps of us," she said.

"It’s beautiful to watch a generation of new actors and performers have their moment, and I can’t wait to see the final product," she added.

Lovato shared that she even delivered a "mini pep talk" to the new cast of Camp Rock when she first met them.

"I met them as a group, and I gave them some advice. It was like, 'Don’t be afraid to ask for time off, like take care of yourself first. It's really important that you take care of your mental health so that you can do the other things you want to do, like performing and acting,'" she recounted.

"But if you don't have your mental health or if you get burned out, that can all go away, so it is important to take care of yourself."

In a press release, Disney said that the story of Camp Rock 3 picks up when Connect 3 loses their opening act for a major reunion tour and decides to return to their beloved Camp Rock to discover the next big thing."

"As campers vie for the chance to open for their favorite band, tensions rise, and friendships are tested, leading to unexpected alliances, revelations, and romances," the synopsis read.

The film is directed by Veronica Rodriguez, written by Eydie Faye, and produced by Disney Branded Television.

Joe, Nick, and Kevin Jonas will all return to reprise their roles from the original film. The new cast includes Liamani Segura, Malachi Barton, Lumi Pollack, Hudson Stone, and Casey Trotter.

Lovato will serve as executive producer along with the Jonas Brothers, Tim Federle, Betsy Sullenger, Spencer Berman, and Gary Marsh.

The movie will arrive on Disney+ and Disney Channel in summer 2026.
