Was the teenage girl linked to d4vd pregnant when she was found dead in the singer's car? Authorities answer
The death certificate of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez has been released three weeks after her body was found in singer d4vd's car. The cause of death, though, is being deferred pending further investigation by the L.A. County Medical Examiner and the Los Angeles Police Department.
TMZ reported that while the case is being investigated as a robbery-homicide by LAPD detectives, they are still in the process of determining if Hernandez’s death was due to foul play or other causes. Additionally, the medical examiner is awaiting toxicology results following the autopsy performed on Hernandez’s body before it was released to her family on Sept. 23.
The examination has concluded that Hernandez was not pregnant, and had not been pregnant in the last year, according to the entertainment outlet.
On Sept. 8, Hernandez’s decomposing body was discovered by police in the trunk of a Tesla registered to d4vd, whose legal name is David Anthony Burke. The car was parked in a Hollywood Hills impound yard as police was responding to a call about a “foul odor coming from a vehicle.”
A report by PEOPLE Magazine stated that the LAPD is theorizing Hernandez was already dead for several weeks before someone wrapped her body in plastic and placed it in the Tesla’s front trunk.
Police served a search warrant on Sept. 17 at a Hollywood Hills rental property where d4vd had been staying. It was a block away from where the singer’s Tesla was parked before it was towed to the impound lot. At the house, detectives searched for traces of blood, and seized computers and electronics.
Days later, large boxes were seen being carried out of the house, leading to speculation that d4vd had moved out of the rental.
Even as police are trying to piece together a potential relationship between d4vd and Hernandez, they haven’t named any suspect or person of interest in the case.
d4vd has cancelled the final two US dates of his Withered world tour, its European leg, as well as a scheduled appearance at the Grammys Museum.
