TRANSCRIPT: Miss Earth 2025 Top 4 Q&A
The Miss Earth 2025 coronation night reached its peak with another question-and-answer portion.
During the 25th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, held at the Okada Manila on Nov. 5, the Top 4 finalists proceeded to the final round, where they had 30 seconds to respond to the question: "Bill Gates, a leading proponent for carbon emissions reductions, recently proposed that resources must be shifted away from the battle against climate to efforts to prevent disease and hunger. Do you agree? Why or why not?"
Here's how they answered:
Miss Earth Thailand - Waree Ngamkham
I definitely agree that we should increase the carbon tax because we can all be mindful and be responsible in our action. For example, reduce carbon emissions through using less cars and strive how we live our life. And as I'm standing here, I want to remind all of you that we have the power to be responsible and affect how we protect our Earth. Thank you.
Miss Earth Vietnam - Trinh My Anh
That's a question I think that I must say I disagree, because even climate change or hunger, and other than else, I believe that everything is important in our life. Hunger make people a... climate change make our life get harder every single day, especially like in Vietnam, climate change affect so many people lives. I believe that we should not just only focus on hunger, but also on climate change too, because with every natural disaster, we live on this planet Earth, this is our home, we live by the air, the water, the food, so I believe we should also focus on those.
Miss Earth Iceland - Sóldís Vala Ívarsdóttir
I believe that we should take every problem in the world into consideration, and I think we should take care of our people as we care for the Earth. Because if we don't have empathy and don't take care of our people, our family, our nation, and the whole Earth, we can't take care of our Earth. Thank you so much.
Miss Earth Czech Republic - Natálie Puškinová
I'm not here today to pick a finger and choose what is worse with environmental causes or social problems. I believe that even though I live on the other side of the world, on the other side, we are still facing the same climate change, and we are facing this issue together. And I believe that if we all unite, we can prevent both hunger and environmental causes. And one message I want to say, protektahan natin ang kalikasan.
In the end, Czech Republic's Natálie Puškinová took home the Miss Earth 2025 crown. Other Miss Earth titles were awarded to Vietnam's Trinh My Anh as Miss Earth-Water 2025, Thailand's Waree Ngamkham as Miss Earth-Fire 2025, and Iceland's Sóldís Vala Ívarsdóttir as Miss Earth-Air 2025.
