Comedian Pokwang has apologized for her brother following a viral altercation in which he hurt a man pushing a cart.

In her Instagram video on Tuesday, Dec. 16, Pokwang confirmed that the man driving the white pickup truck in the viral video was her brother.

She then apologized to the man her brother got into an altercation with and promised to visit them soon.

Pasensya ka na," she said.

However, the TiktoClock host called out social media users, as well as politicians who jumped on the issue and posted their family photos publicly.

In the viral incident, which happened in Antipolo, Pokwang’s brother was seen angrily yelling at a man pushing the cart before allegedly striking him on the head in front of the man’s daughter, who was already crying helplessly.

The pushcart owner, identified as Crispin Villamor, told GMA News that his daughter was nearly hit by the pickup truck. Although he initially managed to move his cart out of the way, the pickup truck still hit it.

He added that Pokwang's brother threatened to shoot and kill him.

The witness, who captured the viral video, said they waited for Pokwang's brother to apologize. When he did not, they decided to post the video.

On Monday, the Land Transportation Office suspended the driver's license of Pokwang's brother and issued a show cause order requiring him to explain why he should not be held liable and why his license should not be revoked following the viral incident.
