Masungi Georeserve's Moonlit Symphonies to return for second installment this Dec. 29

Finding the perfect way to celebrate the holidays often means looking for something a bit more meaningful than the usual dinner at a restaurant. While a candlelit dinner is always romantic, it is amplified tenfold when you're sitting under a canopy of stars, listening to an intimate quartet perform.

Enter Masungi Georeserve's "Moonlit Symphonies." It is back on its second run this Dec. 29 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and it’s the ultimate way to slow down before the year ends.

For P4,800 per person, you get to experience the forest’s natural rhythm as it transitions from twilight to night.

The organizers describe it not as a hike, but as a "gentle journey" through three different spaces within the reserve. if you're not into hiking, don't worry, the transitions between areas are less than five minutes and involve only easy walks.

"It is designed not as a hike, but as a gentle journey through three spaces within Masungi Georeserve, each revealing a different conversation between people and place," they wrote.

The meal after is just as thoughtful, featuring a dinner by Soil Bespoke Private Dining. The menu is inspired by the food traditions of the Rizal-Quezon-Laguna corridor and is curated by the chef to reflect what's fresh and seasonal.

Adding an element of surprise, the final menu will be shared about a week before the event.

As for the music, you can expect an intimate quartet of instruments, performing classic and contemporary pieces arranged instrumentally.

"The program unfolds in three quiet movements: our connection with nature, the warmth of the holidays, and a closing meditation on homecoming and hope," Masungi wrote, adding that the setlist will be shared on the day of the event.

While the event is open to all ages, guests with children are reminded to maintain the "quiet and gentle atmosphere" as the evening is designed to be "calm, reflective, and music-centered."

Slots are limited, so sign up the form by Wednesday, Dec. 24, and make sure to fill it out with complete information.

The proceeds go toward Masungi’s reforestation and advocacy work, so you're giving back to nature while enjoying it.
