Now you can plan, shop, and order IKEA’s full range in a 500-sqm store at Trinoma

Have you ever wanted to design your dream IKEA kitchen or bedroom but dreaded the long drive all the way to Pasay City? You’re not alone. Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte even joked that it’s faster to visit IKEA's store in Hong Kong than to brave Metro Manila traffic.

As it turns out, the mayor has long been an IKEA fan. “Back when I was a postgraduate student abroad, most of my furniture pieces came from IKEA,” she shared, recalling how she wondered why the brand hadn’t opened in the Philippines when she returned home to work.

“Now, it’s finally here—and right in Quezon City!” she said, beaming. For Mayor Belmonte, having an IKEA store in QC feels like things have come full circle.

At the launch of IKEA's Plan and Order Shop at TriNoma, Mayor Belmonte was joined by Swedish Ambassador Anna Ferry, Ayala Land senior vice president and head of leasing and hospitality Mariana Zobel de Ayala, and IKEA executives led by country retail manager Ricardo Pinheiro.

“I thank IKEA for their faith in our city,” Mayor Belmonte said. “Hindi kayo nagkamali! (You made the right decision!) Quezon City is the largest city in the Philippines, with a total population of 3.2 million. As Ricardo said earlier, many of the customers who come to your Pasay store are actually from QC.”

Customers can explore a curated selection of kitchen, bedroom, and living room solutions, use interactive planning tools to design their dream spaces, and place orders for home delivery.

Bragging aside, the mayor noted that just a few days ago, Quezon City received the Hall of Fame Award for being the Most Business-Friendly City in the country. “And I want to make sure that it’s easy doing business here—if and when you decide to put up IKEA's warehouse here,” she enthused.

Mayor Belmonte’s remarks set the tone for the event—one of pride, optimism, and partnership. Echoing her sentiments, Ayala Land senior vice president and head of leasing and hospitality Mariana Zobel de Ayala said that having IKEA at TriNoma reflects the company’s commitment to connecting global brands with local communities.

“Ayala Malls aren’t just commercial centers—they’re vibrant and future-ready destinations that continue to inspire, push, and engage the communities we serve,” Mariana said. “TriNoma has always held deep significance for us because it was our first venture north of Manila. We’ve seen how the city has evolved and flourished—under the leadership of Mayor Belmonte—in terms of vibrancy and quality of life.”

She added that IKEA's arrival at TriNoma is more than just retail expansion. “It’s a shared commitment to uplifting everyday living,” she said.

Mayor Belmonte’s and Mariana Zobel de Ayala’s remarks highlighted the significance of IKEA's arrival in QC. Echoing their excitement, Pinheiro reflected on the brand’s journey in the country:

“Almost four years ago, Ikea said its first ‘hello’ to the Philippines when we opened our first store in Pasay City. Today, I’m proud to share that we’re now in Quezon City with our first Plan and Order Shop in TriNoma, in collaboration with Ayala Malls.”

“While the compact shop offers select cooking and eating accessories, all products can be ordered online for free collection at the shop,” Pinheiro shared. “It is also designed as a pickup and planning hub.”

Clients can sit down with IKEA's design specialists at the consultation and planning zone, or shop curated displays and take items home the same day.
