It seems like it's gonna be a rainy weekend, so why not spend it indoors and join these events? You can even check out some bazaars for unique finds or attend a fan meet for a chance to see your favorite stars.

Here’s a rundown of where you can hang out and what you can look forward to this Sept. 12 to 14.

Sept. 12-14: Katutubo Pop-Up Market

The Katutubo Pop-Up Market returns from Sept. 12 to 14 at The Bench Tower, BGC.

This three-day event is a celebration of Filipino culture, craft, and creativity, featuring local designers, artisans, and food brands under one roof.

The pop-up runs from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday to Sunday, giving you plenty of time to browse through homegrown fashion, accessories, artisanal food, and lifestyle goods.

Organizers describe the event as “a showcase of culture, craft, and creativity,” with each stall offering a unique take on Filipino artistry. From handcrafted clutches and jewelry to sustainable home items and gourmet delicacies, there’s something for everyone. Admission is free.

Sept.13-14: Peace Film Competition

Head to SM North EDSA on Sept. 13 and 14 for the Peace Film Competition, a two-day event that will screen short films that highlight peacebuilding and unity presented by the Film Development Council of the Philippines.

Among this year’s lineup is Wordplay, directed by Che Tagyamon, a moving story that addresses post-pandemic learning loss through a grassroots reading program in Southern Philippine coastal communities. The film follows an indigenous child, an introverted orphan, and a volunteer who discovers hope through the power of reading.

The lineup also includes What Remains Warm, directed by Dexter Paul De Jesus and Drexler Jaramel, which tells the story of a homemaker preparing a last meal during her husband’s brief visit before deployment.

Sorbetes by Jennissie Gilbuena, a 12-minute portrayal of two brothers coping with trauma in different ways, one of them by turning to ice cream.

The River Flows in Different Places by Lot-Lot Hermosura, a poignant 20-minute film about two Filipino Palestinian mothers fleeing Gaza and finding ways to rebuild a home in the Philippines

Ang Paglipad ng Saranggola sa Aplaya by Danielle Cusi, which follows Diane’s journey back to Mindoro in search of her Mangyan friend Yum-ay, whose memory resurfaces after she sees a familiar kite soaring in the sky.

Screenings will be held at SM North EDSA from September 13 to 14 before moving to FDCP Cinematheque Centres across the regions from September 15 to 25.

Admission is free online, but tickets are currently on a waitlist due to high demand.

The festival, part of the 5th Philippine Film Industry Month, is a platform that celebrates diversity, champions peace, and highlights the visions of Filipino filmmakers.

Sept.13-14: Cosplay Street

Meanwhile, Ayala Malls Fairview Terraces is opening its doors to pop culture fans with Cosplay Street, running from Sept. 13 to 14. Expect a lively showcase of cosplay, fandom merchandise, and interactive booths, plus live stage performances that celebrate the best of anime and pop culture.

This year’s edition comes with a stronger entertainment lineup. On Sept. 13, fans can look forward to the Idol Rock Pro Cosplay Street Concert featuring Houkago Rock Time, followed by special appearances from social media personalities Toni Fowler and Tito Vince, who join as official partner guests.

The next day, Sept. 14, J-rock–inspired local band Varona will perform, while renowned cosplayer Charess joins the festivities as a special guest, along with other exciting acts.

Organizers NexGEnt Production have also prepared ticketing procedures. Attendees who purchased online through their official website must present their confirmation email and a valid ID at the Ticket Selling and Customer Service Booths, while those who secured tickets via Gank must claim their passes at the designated counter near the back of the stage. Tickets remain available on-site at the same price, though fans are advised to avoid resellers.

Music takes center stage at the Dutdutan 25 Philippine Tattoo Expo, happening on September 12–13 at the World Trade Center.

The country’s longest-running and biggest tattoo convention will once again bring together top tattoo artists, enthusiasts, and live performers such as URBANDUB in a two-day celebration of ink and music.

The expo runs from 1 p.m. on Sept. 12 until 11:59 p.m. on Sept. 13, filling the weekend with tattoo competitions, exhibitions, and live entertainment. Fans are reminded that the event is strictly 18+, with valid government-issued IDs required for entry.

This marks the actress’s first world tour stop in Manila.

Tickets remain available via SM Tickets, with tickets ranging from P5,500 to P15,000 depending on the package.

Each tier comes with varying fan perks, from posters and photocards to hi-touch sessions, photo opportunities, and limited signed memorabilia.

Sept. 10-14: Manila International Book Fair

Finally, literature lovers can head to the Manila International Book Fair, happening on Sept. 10 to 14 at the SMX Convention Center.

Now in its 46th year, the fair remains the country’s largest and longest-running book event, with over 200 exhibitors participating. This year’s theme, “Get Lit – Stories in Every Form,” emphasizes the diverse ways stories can be told and consumed, from traditional print to digital platforms.

Visitors can expect book launches, author signings, workshops, storytelling sessions, and panel discussions. It’s a major event for students, educators, and anyone eager to explore new reads.
