In its Nov. 25 episode, U.S. television quiz show Jeopardy! included a category on Filipino-American musicians.

As in its other categories, the Fil-Am category had five clues pertaining to five artists.

"This artist was 'pronoun'-ced as winner of the 2020 Oscar for Best Original song from the movie Judas & the Black Messiah," read host Ken Jennings as the first clue. The contestant, Shannon, answered singer-songwriter H.E.R.

Another clue for another Fil-Am musician read: "In 2025, this ex-Pussycat Doll mentioned her Filipino heritage when accepting a Tony Award for Sunset Blvd." Harrison, a contestant, answered "Nicole Scherzinger" for $1,600.

A third musician's clue was, "Joey Santiago gouges away at lead guitar on albums like Doolittle and Surfer Rosa for this quintessential alt-rock group."

Jennings' clue for the fourth artist was more mainstream: "I've got a feeling that the rapper Apl.de.ap was a coach on The Voice Philippines and a founding member of this group." Harrison got the answer correctly again, saying "Black Eyed Peas."

The fifth clue hinted at Olivia Rodrigo, a Fil-Am artist who was recently in the Philippines for a concert: "During a stop in Manila during her Guts tour, this singer told her fans, 'Pinoy ako.'"

All clues were answered correctly.

Jeopardy! has been airing on American TV for over 50 years. It aired its first episode in 1964. The show's current host, Jennings, used to be a contestant with a 74-game winning streak. He took over Canadian broadcaster Alex Trebek, who hosted the quiz show for 36 years until his death in 2020 at 80 years old.
