The 'Friends' Experience teases arrival in Manila
Calling all Filipino Friends fans! The FRIENDS Experience has hinted that it's coming to Manila next.
On Facebook, The FRIENDS Experience, which brings fans of the 90s show into its world, teased about its next stop. It showed the orange Central Perk couch in different Philippine locations like Intramuros, Rizal Park, Manila Cathedral, Mayon Volcano, and Binondo.
"It's orange. It's iconic. It's almost in Manila," the caption read, along with the hashtag "#TheOneinManila."
GMG Productions, which brought Hamilton and Dear Evan Hansen to Manila, also shared the teaser.
According to its website, the exhibit has been brought to different cities in the US, Canada, France, United Kingdom, Australia, the Netherlands, Spain, Brazil, Belgium, and more.
Visitors get to explore different nostalgia-packed rooms and check out set recreations, including Joey and Chandler's apartment, Monica's living room, the Central Perk coffee shop, and the Las Vegas Wedding chapel.
They'll also see original props and costumes from the show, like the "pivot" couch, Joey's Hugsy plush penguin, Phoebe's Supergirl costume, and Ross's holiday armadillo outfit.
The hit show starred Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer, and the late Matthew Perry. They played a group of friends navigating life, jobs, and dating in their late 20s to 30s in New York City.
In 2021, they came together for Friends: The Reunion, a special where they reminisced about their experience with the pop culture phenomenon. Pinoy fans couldn't BE any more excited to watch the reunion when it hit HBO Max, called HBO Go at the time, as it trended on social media, with some users complaining they couldn't access the streaming app after it crashed.
