Taylor Swift announces acoustic versions of 8 'Life of a Showgirl' songs
The show's not over yet, Swifties!
Taylor Swift has made acoustic versions of eight tracks from her newly released album, The Life of a Showgirl.
On her Instagram account, the award-winning singer announced that she has gone back to the studio to re-record some of her songs with new vocals with her co-producers Max Martin and Shellback.
"I think my favorite moments from the tour were the acoustic surprises. So I went back into the studio with Max and Shellback to record acoustic/unplugged versions of a few of the Showgirl songs with brand new vocals and production! Cannot wait for you to hear," she wrote in the caption.
The four CDs include two acoustic bonus tracks each and feature new cover images that stem from the shoot for the new music video for The Fate of Ophelia.
The first, titled Life Is A Song Acoustic Version, includes Opalite (Life Is A Song Acoustic Version) and Ruin the Friendship (My Advice Version). Another edition, called Dressing Room Rehearsal Version, features Wi$h Li$t (Settled Down Acoustic Version) and The Life of a Showgirl (Dressing Room Rehearsal Acoustic Version).
The third CD, Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version, contains The Fate of Ophelia (Alone In My Tower Acoustic Version) and Eldest Daughter (Now You’re Home Acoustic Version).
Lastly, the So Glamorous Cabaret Version disc showcases two interpretations of the same track: Elizabeth Taylor (So Glamorous Cabaret Version) and a raw voice memo titled Elizabeth Taylor (Original Songwriting Voice Memo).
The new versions are available on Taylor's website store for $7.99 (P462), but they're only available "for 24 hours while supplies last."
The Life of a Showgirl is the music artist's twelfth studio album, released on Oct. 3. She recorded it during the European leg of the Eras Tour in 2024, having been inspired by her life as an entertainer.
Showgirl earned mixed reviews, but fans flocked to Spotify to listen the 12 tracks, making it the most-streamed album in one day in 2025 in less than 11 hours, the platform said.
