Alexandria Faith Garcia raised the Philippine flag in Antalya, Turkey after she won the title as the Miss Aura International 2021 on Oct. 3 (morning of Oct. 4, Manila time).

This is the first time that the Philippines sent a representative to the Turkey-based pageant—formerly known as Miss Kremer International—that focuses on tourism promotion since it was established in 2006. The pageant was organized by Turkish business tycoon Adnan Seker.

Garcia, who bested over 40 candidates at the pageant, posted on Instagram a photo of her crown with the caption, “We did it, Philippines! Miss Aura International 2021!” Garcia succeeded Miss Aura International 2020 Andreia Correia from Portugal.

In an Instagram post, the Miss Aura International Organization congratulated Garcia and her team on her win. “Congratulations to the Alexandra’s team who have worked so hard to have Alexandra prepared and perform so excellently at Miss Aura International 2021.”

In July, the Miss Aura Philippines organization named Garcia as the Philippines’ representative to the international pageant. The organization said in a statement that it initially planned to hold a national pageant, but due to time constraints and the COVID-19 pandemic, it opted to hold a special screening.

“During the selection process, she won the nod of the organization as she fits the 4Bs qualifications that the international pageant is looking for—beauty, behavior, brain and body,” the organization said.

In an Instagram post, the organization proudly congratulated the new queen. “You were redirected to a better path and that was to bring home the first ever Miss Aura International crown for the Philippines! Congratulations, Alexandra Faith Garcia!”

Garcia is not new in the pageant circuit. In fact, she was a Binibining Pilipinas candidate for its 2016 and the 2020/2021 edition as well as the Mutya ng Pilipinas 2014, representing Olongapo City.

Prior to leaving the country for the Miss Aura International 2021 pageant, Garcia posted on Instagram that she is ready to represent the Philippines to the pageant and thanked those who supported her.

“As I venture out to Antalya, Turkey, I’m taking you all with me. I have my whole country across my heart to support me. The moment I’ve been waiting for is bound to happen. After all the hard work, sleepless nights, training, and preparations, all I say is that I’m all set to raise our flag in the Miss Aura International 2021.” And she did.
