MTRCB gives final ratings for 2025 MMFF entries
All 2025 Metro Manila Film Festival films have been evaluated by the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board.
According to the board, the majority of the films are family friendly, with most of them given a G (General Patronage) or PG (Parental Guidance) classifications, allowing children to watch if accompanied by parents or guardians.
The only G-rated movie is Sigrid Bernardo's romantic drama I'm Perfect, a Nathan Studios-produced love story between two people with Down Syndrome.
Under the PG rating are Kip Oebanda's most anticipated sequel Bar Boys: After School, the Vice Ganda and Nadine Lustre queer starrer Call Me Mother, Mae Cruz-Alviar's romantic comedy Love You so Bad starring the PBB love triangle Will Ashley, Bianca de Vera, and Dustin Yu, Raymond Red's Piolo Pascual and Enrique Gil crime thriller Manila's Finest, Jade Castro's all-star family drama Rekonek and Jeffrey Jeturian's marriage drama Unmarry starring Zanjoe Marudo and Angelica Panganiban.
Only the horror anthology film Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins received an R-13 rating, limited to viewers aged 13 and above.
MTRCB Chairperson and CEO Lala Sotto said the review is part of the agency's commitment to age-appropriate Filipino movies.
“This is a testament to our dedication and strong support for local films by providing age-appropriate ratings. MMFF is not just a festival, it is a celebration of the creativity, heart, and value of Filipino storytelling,” Sotto said.
She also encouraged the public, particularly families, to support all MMFF entries this holiday season.
“Ngayong darating na pasko, mas nagiging masaya ang pagpunta sa sinehan dahil pagkakataon ito para magkasama-sama ang pamilya. I encourage everyone to support all MMFF entries and celebrate the creativity of our filmmakers. Sama-sama po nating ipagdiwang ang galing ng pelikulang Pilipino,” she added.
