Dave Lamar shares video of wife Morissette's alleged poor performance at event: 'I wish I sound this good when I'm sick'
Morissette’s husband, Dave Lamar, came to her defense following accusations that she delivered a “disappointing” performance at a company event.
Dave recently shared a video of the Asia’s Phoenix’s alleged underwhelming performance during the affair, where she can be seen belting out her song Will You Stay.
“Man, I wish I sound this good when I’m sick. But then again, don’t we all? HAHA,” he captioned his post.
“But real talk, I took this clip of Mori during this event because I couldn’t believe she still sounded this good despite being sick this day. Whatta trooper!” he added.
The said post has garnered 11,000 views and over 700 reactions as of writing.
"So this is the said event. You can’t really please everyone. Damned if you don't and damned if you do. But still [M]ori slayed as usual," a social media user commented.
To which, Dave replied and expressed his frustration at how people were quick to criticize the singer "without even knowing the other side of the situation."

This comes after events director Vic Sevilla posted a now-deleted blind item on his Facebook account about a guest singer who allegedly gave an underwhelming performance at an event. He also gave a clue that the singer is "labeled as the 'phoenix'" and that she's "known for belting extremely difficult songs and her ability to 'whistle' a la Mariah Carey."
"Naturally, we were expecting no less than a fiery performance from her," he said, adding that the singer “seemed zapped of energy, acted uninterested, and sounded distant and cold.” He said he found it disappointing as the blind item is someone who "demands a hefty price to appear in corporate events."
Morissette later addressed the incident and said she was “bedridden the day before with a fever and no voice,” but decided to push through with it as agreed.
She also noted that the talent coordinator knew she wasn't in the best condition at the time. "I performed as planned, again not a hundred percent, but rest assured I gave my all, even congratulating the awardees on stage and still belting my heart out," she continued.
Morissette shared that her team, including the event staff, "applauded [her] for getting through [her] set despite knowing [she] wasn't in [her] best shape" after her performance.
"So I really don't know what else to tell you guys. I showed up to that event and still tried to give it my all, but I guess I can't please everybody," she added.
Morissette started her journey in the music industry at 14, emerging as a runner-up in TV5's Star Factor. She also became a semi-finalist for The Voice Philippines. The 27-year-old singer's discography includes three studio albums and two extended plays.
She and Dave announced their marriage in January 2022, sharing they had an intimate wedding ceremony at The Old Grove Farmstead in Lipa, Batangas. They got engaged in 2020.
