Police stopped organizers of the Baha sa Luneta 2.0 rally from setting up the stage for the protest due to a lack of permit.

In a Philippine STAR report, the Manila local government said it did not object to the Nov. 30 demonstration at Luneta Park, but the organizers, Kilusang Bayan Kontra Korapsyon (KBKK) should have coordinated with the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and the National Parks Development Committee.

The group on Sunday morning also released a statement condemning the police for stopping their preparations.

KBKK also shared a photo of portalets set up at the rally venue bearing the MMDA logo.

In the STAR report, Manila mayor Isko Moreno said that the LGU will provide the same assistance as it did during the Sept. 21 anti-corruption rally and the Iglesia Ni Cristo's peace rally.

"However, Roxas Blvd. is under the jurisdiction of the MMDA and Luneta is under the NPDC. They should coordinate directly with them. That was our advice to the rally organizers in a meeting held in the city hall last Nov. 25," he said.

"No rally permit is needed from any local or national agency for Liwasang Bonifacio, as it is a freedom park."

Several rallies are being held on Bonifacio Day, Nov. 30, to cry out for justice and accountability in the investigation of the flood control scandal.

Aside from a rally in Luneta, the Trillion Peso March is also happening at the People Power Monument in EDSA.

As of writing, protesters converged along Roxas Blvd. for the Baha sa Luneta 2.0 rally.
