The Independent Commission for Infrastructure has issued a new subpoena to ex-Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co amid the ongoing probe into the alleged corruption in flood control projects.

ICI Executive Director Brian Hosaka told reporters that the new summons was sent to his address in Pasig City and Bicol.

Hosaka added that the commission is studying whether there's sufficient basis to cite Co in contempt if the former lawmaker still refuses to appear before the ICI on Nov. 11 and 12 at 9 a.m.

The ICI first issued a subpoena to Co earlier in October to attend the Oct. 14 hearing, along with former House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Sen Mark Villar.

However, the former Ako Bicol Party-list representative did not show up, as he was reportedly out of the country.

Co is among the big names being linked to alleged corruption in flood control projects. He has since denied the allegations, calling them "false, baseless, and politically charged statements."

Co resigned as a member of the House of Representatives on Sept. 29 amid the corruption scandal.

The ICI, which was created to probe the anomalies linked to flood control projects, recommended filing criminal and administrative charges to the Ombudman against Co and Sunwest Group of Companies, which the ex-lawmaker co-founded.

The act-finding body will begin livestreaming its investigations into anomalous flood control projects in November.
