More typhoons are expected to slam into the Philippines before the year ends.

In an interview on TV Patrol Express on Monday, Nov. 10, PAGASA weather specialist Munir Baldomero said around one to three typhoons are forecast to hit the country in the coming months.

"So for November to December, 'yung combined number, around one or three pa po ang inaasahan nating bagyo na maaaring dumaan sa PAR o Philippine Area of Responsibility or magla-landfall po sa ating bansa,” he said.

Based on Nov. 7 data, Baldomero said they're seeing a possible low pressure area in the Pacific.

However, he noted that no concerning cloud cluster can be seen in the same area per the current satellite images. He advised the public to wait for future updates from PAGASA.

This comes after Typhoon Uwan made landfall in Aurora province late Sunday, Nov. 11. It has left at least two people dead and has forced more than a million individuals to evacuate.

According to PAGASA's 11 a.m. bulletin, Uwan—which has downgraded from a super typhoon to a typhoon—further weakened over the West Philippine Sea.

It is located 135 km West Northwest of Bacnotan, La Union and is moving West Northwestward at 20 km/h. It packs maximum sustained winds of 130 km/h near the center and gustiness of up to 160 km/h.

Uwan is expected to exit PAR on Tuesday, Nov. 11.
