A couple in their 90s proved that it’s never too late for a fairytale ending.

In a report by WTVR CBS 6, Harold Pugh, 91, and Frances Pugh, 90, decided to celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows through an official ceremony they had never had the chance to experience.

The Pughs exchanged vows once more at Cawson Street Church of Christ in Hopewell, Virginia on Jan. 10.

Harold looked sharp in a dark suit with a gray tie and a white rose boutonnière, while his wife radiated elegance in a light gray sequined jacket and gown set that she paired with a floral necklace and dangling earrings.

During their big day, Harold was jokingly asked by a guest, "It's a big decision, are you sure you want to get married?"

"I think I will," he replied with a laugh.

Frances, meanwhile, remained enamored of her husband.

"Look at my handsome husband up there. After all these years, I still love him. I cherish him," Frances said, as a clip of her walking down the aisle to her husband was shown.

"I appreciate all he's done for me over the years," she added.

During the ceremony, the officiant also revisited key moments from the couple’s life together.

"Traveling, riding roller coasters in your 90s, hosting Bible studies in your home, we see in you a pair blessed by God with years of life and the wisdom to take advantage of every opportunity to live it," he said.

According to loved ones who witnessed the ceremony, Harold and Frances have long been known for putting others first and quietly serving their community throughout their 70 years together. They eloped when they were just in their 20s, having fallen in love at a skating rink in the 1950s.

"They would deny themselves everything and give to anyone that needs," one guest said.

"I'm thankful for every year, for every day we've had together," Frances said.
