LOOK: 'Legend of Zelda' movie unveils first glimpse at live-action Zelda and Link
Nintendo has dropped a first look at the live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda.
In a social media post, the gaming company released official photos Bo Braganson as Princess Zelda and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as Link—complete with Hylian elf-like ears.
Both stars sport the same blonde hair and iconic outfit the characters wear in the game, with Zelda in a blue dress and Link in his signature green tunic. The princess is also seen wielding a bow and arrow.
"Filming is underway for the live-action film of The Legend of Zelda in a lush, natural setting," the game's co-creator Shigeru Miyamoto said.
According to the Nintendo game director, the film is set to release on May 7, 2027.
"It will take a while until the release, so we would be grateful if you would wait patiently and look forward to it," Miyamoto added.
The live-action film will be directed by Wes Ball of the Maze Runner trilogy.
Bragason and Ainsworth's casting was announced earlier in July.
Other details about the upcoming film have yet to be revealed.
The Legend of Zelda follows warrior Link, who's out to defeat the evil Ganon and rescue Zelda, the princess of Hyrule. The franchise spans 21 main series games, including A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, The Minish Cap, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword, Breath of the Wild, and Tears of the Kingdom.
Apart from Zelda, Nintendo released the official trailer for The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, starring Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Jack Black, and Charlie Day. It will hit theaters in April 2026.
