WATCH: Pia Wurtzbach is back on the Paris Fashion Week runway for L'Oreal
For the second year in a row, Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach-Jauncey stunned at Paris Fashion Week, joining the Le Défilé show for L’Oréal.
Organized by French cosmetics group L’Oréal, the official partner of Paris Fashion Week, the public show used a reimagined statement of the French motto: Liberté. Egalité. Fraternité (liberty, equality, fraternity). Titled “Liberty. Equality. Sisterhood. Because You’re Worth it,” the Sept. 29 show was held in front of Hôtel de Ville, or the Paris City Hall.
Wurtzbach-Jauncey wore an off-shoulder shimmering red gown from Tony Ward’s Spring/Summer 2024 Haute Couture Collection. The beauty queen’s understated makeup matched her minimalist gold hoop earrings and Bulgari serpenti necklace, with her straight hair flowing down her back.
“To walk alongside women from all over the world and carry the Philippine flag with me? That’s the real honor,” wrote Wurtzbach-Jauncey on Instagram. “The theme ‘Liberty, Equality, Sisterhood’ says it best. When we walk together, we walk stronger.”
“Always proud to remind every Filipino: we are seen, we are celebrated, and yes…we are ALWAYS worth it,” she added.
Last year, Wurtzbach-Jauncey became the first Filipino to walk down the L’Oréal Paris Le Défilé runway.
She joined a star-studded line-up of global women on the runway, each of whom exuded grace, confidence, and individuality. Along with Wurtzbach-Jauncey, the show included American model and entrepreneur Kendall Jenner, British actresses Dame Helen Mirren and Gillian Anderson, American actresses Andie Macdowell and Eva Longoria, and French model Cindy Bruna.
The annual celebration of female empowerment invites powerful women around the globe to walk the runway. In 2024, the show included Kendall Jenner, British model Cara Delevingne, American actress Jane Fonda, American singer Camila Cabello, Indian actress and model Aishwarya Rai, Indian actress and singer Alia Bhatt, and Ethiopian actress and model Liya Kebed.
