UP ranks in 10 out of 11 subject categories in 2026 THE world rankings
The University of the Philippines led four other Philippine universities in Times Higher Education's World University Rankings by Subject 2026, being cited in 10 of the 11 subject areas.
Along with UP, the other Philippine schools that received rankings are De La Salle University, Ateneo de Manila University, Mapua University, and University of Santo Tomas.
The rankings cover 11 subject areas and encompass 148 individual disciplines. While the rankings were decided based on the same methodology used for the annual World University Rankings, assessments were adjusted for each subject, taking into account various disciplinary priorities and field-specific nuances.

Last October, ADMU was named the top Philippine university for the fourth consecutive year in the 2026 Times Higher Education World Rankings.
The universities are assessed based on 18 performance indicators with five core pillars, namely teaching, research environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook.
