Here's when the number coding scheme is suspended for the holidays

Heads up, motorists! The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority has released the dates for when the expanded number coding scheme will be suspended this holiday season.

According to the advisory, there will be no number coding on Dec. 23, 24 (Christmas Eve), 25 (Christmas Day), 29, 30 (Rizal Day), 31 (New Year's Eve), and Jan. 1 (New Year's Day) and 2, 2026.

"Awtomatikong sinususpinde ang number coding tuwing regular at special non-working holidays," the MMDA said.

The number coding scheme on Dec. 29 and Jan 2 will be halted following Memorandum Circular No. 111, which suspended work in all government offices on the said dates.

The agency also urged motorists to plan their trips ahead, follow traffic rules, and take care on the road.

Meanwhile, the Metro Tollway Corporation waived tolls during the holidays at NLEX, SCTEX, NLEX Connector, CALAX, and CAVITEX from Dec. 24, 10 p.m. to Dec. 25, 6 a.m., and on Dec. 31, 10 p.m. to Jan. 1, 6 a.m.

Motorists are urged to ensure their RFID accounts are active and sufficiently funded before traveling to ensure seamless, faster transactions.

Additionally, motorists should take note that the delayed EDSA rehabilitation project is scheduled to begin on Dec. 24, 11 p.m., according to Department of Public Works and Highways Sec. Vince Dizon.
