Pregnant Filipina dies in car crash in Northern Ireland
A 30-year-old Pinay healthcare worker and her unborn child died in a car crash in Crumlin, Ireland.
Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed that Cathrene Kith Singco, a Pinay based in Ireland, was killed after a car crash over the weekend.
“We can also confirm that, sadly, Cathrene was pregnant and her baby also died as a result of the collision. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this time," Detective Inspector Stewart of the Collision Investigation Unit said in the statement.
He added that the police are currently investigating the accident and are seeking the public’s help to assist with their inquiries.
“Anyone who witnessed the collision, or who may have any dash-cam footage of the road at the time which could assist with our investigation, please contact us in the Collision Investigation Unit on 101, quoting reference number 735 11/01/26," he concluded.
According to the local outlet Belfast Telegraph, Singco was seated in the backseat when a two-car collision happened along Moira Road in Crumlin last Sunday afternoon, Jan. 11. She was taken to the hospital but later succumbed to injuries.
Her husband, Ralph Singco, was reportedly critically injured and is still in the hospital. Meanwhile, six other people suffered minor injuries.
"NIAS dispatched six emergency ambulances, three ambulance officers, two HART Teams and the Charity Air Ambulance with HEMS on board were also tasked to the scene," it added.
As seen on her last Facebook update, Kith and Ralph recently celebrated their sixth wedding anniversary on Jan. 10.
"From traveling as two to traveling as three puhon (hopefully) Happy 6th year married," she wrote in her caption.
