Irish rock band Kodaline will part ways after over a decade.

The group, consisting of Vincent May, Steve Garrigan, Mark Prendergast, and Jason Boland, announced its disbandment on its social media pages.

"After over a decade, it’s time to say goodbye. With all our love," they wrote, signing off with the band members' name initials.

In the post, they shared a montage of their performances over the years. “After over a decade together, we’ve made a difficult decision to say goodbye to Kodaline. We know this might come as a surprise, and it’s definitely bittersweet for us too," they said in the voiceover.

"What we've shared with you has changed our lives forever, from busking on the streets of Dublin to playing shows across the world. It really had been the stuff that dreams are made of," they added.

The band added that they are working on their fifth and last album before officially disbanding.

"We are and will always be forever grateful for your love and support. It's been a journey that we'll never forget, and we hope the music stays with you long after we're gone," they concluded.

Fans expressed their sadness at the news.

"[W]hen you said your last goodbye, [I] died a little bit inside.. never hit harder than today," an Instagram user wrote, referencing the lyrics of All I Want.

"This is my biggest heartbreak for the year," another one wrote.

"One of my dreams was to see Kodaline live, can't believe that chance is gone now. Goodbye to the band that made us feel everything. Kodaline, thank you for the songs, the comfort, the emotions — you’ll always be special," another one commented.

Originally started as 21 Demands, the band adopted its current name in 2012. They are known for their songs All I Want, High Hopes, The One, Brother, Love Like This, and The One.

Kodaline visited the Philippines for the Wanderland Music Festival in March 2018. They returned the following year for the "Politics of Living" tour, and again in 2023 for a solo concert in Alabang.
