Marikina Mayor Maan Teodoro defends congressman husband Marcy Teodoro amid sexual assault allegations

Marikina Mayor Maan Teodoro, the wife of Marikina 1st District Rep. Marcy Teodoro, came to his defense, dismissing sexual assault allegations against him as false.

"Bilang asawa ni Marcy, ako ang pinaka nakakakilala sa kanya. I know his heart, his character, and his integrity, and I stand beside him because I know the truth," Maan said in a Facebook post on Thursday, Sept. 25. "HINDI TOTOO ang mga paratang laban sa kanya. ISANG MALAKING KALOKOHAN."

Maan pointed out that the accusations are "not only false," but they are also "deeply hurtful to our family and to the people of Marikina who know who Marcy really is."

Maan said that for years, she has seen Marcy serve with "humility, honesty, and compassion."

"Marcy is a loving husband, a good father, and a true public servant," she added.

Maan believes the accusations are part of an organized, political attack meant to destroy Marcy's reputation.

"Alam naman nating hindi lang ito simpleng paratang," she said. "Isa itong malawak at organisadong pagtatangka ng mas malalaking puwersang pulitikal na sirain ang kanyang pangalan."

But for her, "Walang kasinungalingan ang makakatalo sa katotohanan."

"We put our faith in God, in our people, and in what is right," she said, even as she thanked Marikina residents for the trust and support.

Without explicitly mentioning anyone, Maan said some people continue attacking Marcy as they can't "move on."

"Laban lang tayo sa mga nagtatangka pa ring sirain at guluhin ang mahal nating bayan," she added.

Two female police officers, Marcy's close-in securities, have filed cases of alleged rape by sexual assault and acts of lasciviousness against him before the Department of Justice.

The DOJ said the complaints will undergo case build-up and legal evaluation to determine the sufficiency of evidence before any preliminary investigation.

In a statement, Marcy denied the accusations, saying they're politically motivated. He added that he hasn't received the formal complaint against him and doesn't know the full details yet.

Marcy served as Marikina's district representative from 2007 to 2016. He then worked as its mayor from 2016 to 2025.

Maan, meanwhile, served as the representative of Marikina's 1st District from 2022 to 2025.
