LOOK: Kris Aquino, Liza Marcos share lunch at Michael Leyva's birthday
Kris Aquino and First Lady Liza Marcos were spotted enjoying lunch together to celebrate the birthday of their mutual friend, fashion designer Michael Leyva.
In a photo shared by makeup artist Patrick Rosas, Aquino and Marcos were seen posing for a photo while seated next to each other, along with Kathy Pimentel, Rosas, and Leyva.
They also appeared in a separate photo posted by another guest at Leyva's birthday lunch.
"For today — with The Aquino and The Marcos," he wrote. "Different colors, one good day."
In the comments section, followers expressed their delight at seeing Aquino looking healthy.
"This photo brings so much smile. KCA looks healthy!! God is good," fashion designer and stylist Oli Sara wrote.
"Everyone looks soooooo fresh and beautiful! Happy birthday, Michael! Thank you for bringing us together!" another one wrote.
"Happy to see Kris looking good," another Instagram user also commented.
Last year, Aquino's kids, Josh and Bimby, visited the First Lady in her office. "It was so nice to see you guys after all these years," she added. "[Love] my pasalubong!" Marcos wrote at the time.
The Aquinos and the Marcoses are among the most prominent political families in the Philippines.
"The Queen of all Media"'s father, former senator Benigno Aquino Jr., was a critic of the late Ferdinand Marcos Sr., current President Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.'s father.
A leader in the opposition, Aquino was arrested when the older Marcos declared martial law in 1972 and spent eight years behind bars.
President Bongbong Marcos previously revealed that the two women were also related since the First Lady's aunt married Aquino's maternal grandfather, Don Jose "Pepe" Cojuangco.
Aquino has been diagnosed with several autoimmune diseases while dealing with fibromyalgia, which triggers pain and tenderness throughout the body; polymyositis, an inflammatory disease that leads to muscle weakness; and mixed connective tissue disease, which combines disorders such as lupus, scleroderma, and polymyositis.
Last month, she revealed that she is set to undergo the first of two surgical procedures for an undisclosed illness.
