Michelin Guide unveils five PH hotels with 'Michelin Key' distinctions
The MICHELIN Guide has unveiled five Philippine hotels that it awarded with the prestigious Key Hotel distinction, which is given to the most outstanding stays in all of its categories.
In the list released on Oct. 8, five hotels from across the country have been recognized as the "most distinguished hotels" in 2025, which have established the benchmark for excellence in Filipino hospitality.
The five hotels earned One Key include: Amanpulo, known for its luxurious casitas and villas, and a go-to vacation place among celebrities; Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort, popular for its world-class Thai vacation; Fairmont Makati, a 5-star hotel nestled in the bustling streets; its neighbor hotel Raffles Makati known for its Long Bar and Writers Bar; and Nay Palad which provides luxurious tropical vacation in Siargao.
According to MICHELIN, the awarded hotels "highlight the crème de la crème" of its selection. The hotels are assessed based on five universal criteria, namely, excellence in architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price, and a significant contribution to the neighborhood or setting.
The award has three tiers: One Key refers to a very special stay, Two Keys refers to an exceptional stay, and Three Keys refers to an extraordinary stay.
It added that all hotels included in the list are not necessarily expensive, but it's those that stood out among over 7,000 accommodations across the world.
"Our Key hotels don’t just fulfill one of these criteria. These are the best of the best in all categories," it said.
This year is the Philippines' debut on the prestigious list.
In February, the MICHELIN Guide announced that its anonymous inspectors had been exploring restaurants in Metro Manila and Cebu, as well as their environs, including Pampanga, Tagaytay, and Cavite, for its selection of Filipino restaurants for 2026. It's set to be revealed at the end of October.
It recently released a list of MICHELIN Guide hotels in the country.
The MICHELIN Guide was created by the French tire company of the same name in 1900.
