The Fault in Our Stars author John Green recently visited Jordan, Guimaras, to support a campaign against tuberculosis.

The Province of Guimaras shared on its Facebook page photos of Green during the event, where he also held a special book signing for his book, Everything Is Tuberculosis: The History and Persistence of Our Deadliest Infection.

"Green’s participation in the TB-Free Guimaras event reflects his ongoing advocacy for public health, equity, and global cooperation in ending tuberculosis," the local government wrote. The author was a donor and an advocate of the province's TB campaign.

Some fans also posted photos with the Looking for Alaska writer at the event.

Green's book about the disease tells the story of a young patient named Henry. It also dives into the "scientific and social histories of how tuberculosis has shaped our world and how our choices will shape the future of tuberculosis."

Guimaras' initiative aims to reduce TB-related deaths in Guimaras by at least 90% by 2030 by screening, achieving a 90% treatment success rate for both drug-susceptible and drug-resistant TB cases, providing preventive treatment to 75% of eligible household contacts, and increasing community awareness.

Green is known for his best-selling novels Looking for Alaska, Paper Towns, An Abundance of Katherines, and Turtles All the Way Down, among others.
