Recently, many TikTok users from different parts of the world have been mentioning the question in several school-related scenarios.
Where did it come from?
The viral clip goes way back to an episode of Regine Velasquez's former talk show, Sarap Diva, which aired in 2017. In one of its segments, three candidates took on the question-and-answer portion with Winwyn Marquez, who clinched the Reina Hispanoamericana title that year.
Marquez then asked candidate No. 1, Adelantada, "What is your biggest mistake?" but the candidate, who seemingly misheard it, said, "The biggest beef steak..." which elicited laughter from the hosts.
The candidate in the segment is portrayed by Tonton Soriano, a singer, stand-up comedian, and YouTube creator.
How people are jumping on the trend
The meme is going viral again since early October with international TikTok creators—mostly students—adding their own humorous takes. However, this wouldn't be the first time users pondered about their "biggest beef steak," as it previously made the rounds in 2024.

A TikTok user @rnsjulia used the sound with the text, "When you're writing a midterm and all you can think about is food you're going to reward yourself after."
Another one started with a serious tone about reflecting on life decisions, only to answer, "The biggest beef steak..."
