A turkey feast is waiting for you at Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill
It’s the season for gathering family and friends—including the ones you haven’t seen in a while—and sharing memorable meals together.
If you’re looking for a place where you can celebrate, here’s a good pick: Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill. The restaurant, which opened at Newport World Resorts in August 2024, is now part of the Michelin Selected list—the first outside London to receive the recognition, said Ryan Behr, group general manager of Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Philippines. “We’re the first one that got it. Very proud of the team and Gordon is very proud. It’s a good achievement.”
Fresh off that milestone, Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill has introduced a new festive menu in time for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It will be available until Jan. 4.
The Philippine STAR got to preview the menu just before its launch.
Christmas wreath salad
Our meal started with the beautiful Kale & Quinoa Christmas Wreath Salad, which is really shaped like a wreath. The plating is so pretty, and the kale and quinoa go together so well with the carrots, beetroots, pomegranates, goat cheese, and orange dressing.
Next came the Roasted Carrot Soup. It had cumin and was topped with crispy fermented chili, sesame, and crème fraiche—ingredients that added new depths to the dish and gave it a nice kick.
The centerpiece of the meal was the turkey. They wheeled out a whole one, and executive chef Stephen Wood carved it for us. “This is a Hungarian turkey. We brined it for 24 hours, and then we roasted it… The turkey has two kinds of meat—white meat and dark meat. If you have a preference, just let the server know.”
Diners can order a whole turkey—it’s good for a family of eight, said Ben Anthony, general manager of Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill. Just make sure to pre-order it 48 hours in advance. People can also order a plate of turkey with stuffing and sides—a great deal for just P1,500. It comes with beef-fat roasted potatoes, baby carrots, braised red cabbage, Brussel sprouts, cranberry jelly, and chicken jus.
Beef wellington
For an even more special meal, you can add the Gordon Ramsay classic and all-time favorite Beef Wellington (MB7 Wagyu beef fillet, mushroom and truffle duxelles, creamed Koffman’s potatoes, red wine jus). You can go for single orders but if you want a whole log, you have to pre-order it 24 hours in advance.
For dessert, we had the Christmas Pudding with brandy butter sauce. It really did taste like Christmas.
We enjoyed the food with an assortment of wines—from chardonnay to pinot noir.
Don’t miss the mulled wine, too. One sip of the warm citrus and spice-infused Malbec was enough to transport us to the Christmas markets of Germany. So lovely.
They’re also serving other holiday cocktails like Baileys Gingerbread Espresso Affogato Martini (Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Kahlúa, Baileys Irish Cream, espresso), Christmas Baubletini (Tanqueray gin, raspberry syrup, chamomile apple syrup, lemon, orange bitters), and New Year’s Midnight Glitter (sparkling wine, St. Germain Liqueur, soda).
We enjoyed our food and drinks in one of the two private dining rooms of the restaurant which had been transformed into a holiday haven, with decked-out trees and festive tablescaping. It’s the perfect place to celebrate with loved ones—the setting is great for taking lots of photos, too.
More to come
Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill’s Great British Brunch, which is available on weekends, continues to be very popular, while Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips and Street Burger by Gordon Ramsay are thriving in Cebu. Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Philippines has a lot more in store for food lovers in the country. There will be a pop-up at various locations. “I can’t tell you what it is yet; you’ll have to watch and see,” said Ryan.
Ryan also teased that we might get to see Gordon’s January 2025 visit to the Philippines in an upcoming Netflix show.
Next year, Hell’s Kitchen will open in Manila. “It’s gonna be a nice area, a nice location. It’s well under progress, and we’re super, super excited.”
