Where fine dining meets purpose: Restaurant Idalia joins Globe Platinum's Gastronome Giving Series

At the heart of Manila's evolving culinary landscape, where flash often overshadows substance, Restaurant Idalia’s owner and chef, Kevin David, has built a dining experience that combines the traditional art of cooking and the urgent need to nourish communities beyond its walls.

This contemporary restaurant in Makati City takes part in Globe Platinum’s Gastronome Giving Series with the Facebook community Fine Dining Club Philippines until Nov. 30. It supports the hunger alleviation efforts of the Hapag Movement to prevent child stunting.

The Hapag Movement is a technology-enabled approach to sustainable change, partnering with established organizations such as the Ayala Foundation and the UN World Food Programme to create lasting impact through feeding programs and nutrition education.

“Through ‘Globe of Good,’ we demonstrate programs that help build a sustainable future for all. The Hapag Movement envisions helping to address child stunting in the country. Working with partners, we tackle inadequate nutrition, which leads to stunting among thousands of Filipino children,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications officer.

Menu with purpose

Chef Kevin, known for creating dishes that leave a lasting impression, has designed an exclusive tasting menu for the Gastronome Giving Series that reflects his commitment to honest, well-crafted food that speaks for itself.

“We’re here to revive the lost art of cooking, to honor the process, and to bring forward something new while respecting the old. At the same time, we’re serving a greater purpose. Through Gastronome Giving, we offer our customers the opportunity to turn their fine dining occasions into acts of generosity,” explained Chef Kevin.

Priced at P4,500, exclusive of service charge, the five-course journey begins with squid ink buñuelo paired with local tuna and ossetra caviar. The progression continues through anolini with dashi and mouldy blooms mushroom, to red snapper with black bean and fish tare, before reaching the centerpiece of black onyx striploin with soubise and porcini. The meal concludes with a dessert of banana, miso, and oats. Globe Platinum customers can take home a pasta of their choice.

Guests who wish to elevate each course may opt for a wine pairing at P2,500 per person, featuring five carefully curated bottles: La Postolle Sauvignon Blanc, Mazzei Vermentino, Albert Bichot Chardonnay, Vik Cabernet Sauvignon, and Ceci Guiseppe Verdi Malvasia Dolce.

“Globe Platinum customers seek experiences that go beyond exclusivity to create real impact. With Gastronome Giving, every reservation they make automatically contributes to the Hapag Movement, bringing hope to families and communities in need,” said Mark Pasaylo, head of Globe Platinum.

Other exceptional establishments participating in the charitable dining series are Chef Jessie Rockwell Club and Metiz in Makati City; Finestra in Solaire Entertainment Resort in Parañaque and Quezon City; Sauma Farm, Bar & Kitchen in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental; and Benjarong in Dusit Thani Residences Davao.

“We are grateful to Fine Dining Club for this partnership. Together, these restaurants represent the Philippines' commitment to using gastronomy as a force for social good,“ said Pasaylo.
