The new sequel to Paranormal Activity is set to be released on May 21, 2027, Variety reported.

The latest sequel, still untitled, is directed by Ian Tuason. James Wan and Jason Blum will produce the picture through their company, Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, which is co-financing with Paramount. Oren Peli, the director of the 2007 original, will also produce through his Solana Films banner.

Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, James Wan, who also directed the horror film Conjuring, said that he was a big fan of Paranormal Activity since it was first released.

"I’ve been a huge admirer of Paranormal Activity since the brilliant first movie, with its creeping slow burn and subtle ability to make the unseen terrifying. I’m looking forward to expanding on its legacy and helping shape the next evolution of this scary found-footage franchise,” Conjuring director James Wan told The Hollywood Reporter.

Paranormal Activity is a hit FF movie franchise since the first film was released in 2007 on a micro-budget. Following its release, the film grossed $194 million worldwide, cementing its status as one of the most profitable movies ever made.

Its seven movies revolved around households haunted by demonic entities, the latest being Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin, released in 2021.
