Citing the Korea Organ Donation Agency, media outlets The Korea Herald and The Chosun Daily reported that she saved the lives of five people by donating her organs, particularly her heart, lungs, liver, and both of her kidneys.
In her 2018 book I Want to Die but I Want to Eat Tteokbokki, she talked about her counseling sessions with her psychiatrist as she shed light on what it's like to live with depression.
Her memoir showed their conversations about her battle with dysthymia, which is "a mild, but long-lasting form of depression." According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, it's also known as persistent depressive disorder.
Baek likewise reflected on dating, womanhood, and other topics related to mental health in her bestseller, which has been translated and published in over 25 countries. Per The Korea Herald, these include the UK, Germany, Spain, Italy, Belgium, and Poland.
