LOOK: Here's how Team Philippines prepared for 'Physical: Asia'

Physical: Asia is now streaming on Netflix, and Team Philippines is ready to represent.

ICYMI, Team PH consists of boxing legend Manny Pacquiao, national team sambo athlete Mark Mugen, strongman Ray Jefferson Querubin, national team rugby player Justin Coveney, national team hurdler Robyn Lauren Brown, and CrossFit athlete Lara Lorraine Deang Liwanag.

When they made their entrance, Pacquiao's superstar status left the other athletes from other nations—South Korea, Japan, Turkiye, Indonesia, Mongolia, Thailand, and Australia—starstruck.

However, before the Filipino crew stepped onto the Physical: Asia stage, they underwent rigorous training.

Brown took to Instagram to share the team's power session before the first challenge, which is called Territorial Conquest. However, Pacquiao didn't appear to join their gym session.

The first challenge saw teams battling to claim a spot on top of sand dunes.

"It's 6 a.m., we're headed to the gym," the hurdler said in a video.

Querubin and Brown are then seen lifting some weights.

In another clip, Mugen is seen teaching his teammates how to get out of a rear bear hug.

"Training harder, pushing limits, and sharpening every skill. This isn't just about strength—it's about endurance, discipline, and heart," Querubin said about their preparation for the show.

In the end, Mugen, Querubin, Brown, Coveney, and Liwanag were seen smiling and posing for a mirror selfie.

Apart from physical training, the whole team also sat down for meetings.

"When the People's Champ speaks, you listen," Coveney wrote in the caption for photos of the Team Philippines sitting around a table. "Team Philippines is ready to make history on Physical: Asia! Who's with us?"

For her part, Liwanag prepped for the Physical: 100 spinoff through intense CrossFit workouts.

Unlike Physical: 100, which has had two seasons (2023 and 2024) where 100 contestants went head-to-head in individual challenges, Physical: Asia champions team effort. Teams of six members each from eight countries will be competing.

The show will be weaving elements of Korean culture and history into the different challenges, as well.
