WATCH: 'Emily in Paris' season 5 trailer teases romance in Rome
Things are heating up in Rome! Netflix has dropped the official trailer for Emily in Paris season 5, which will see titular character Emily Cooper in Italy as her romance with Marcello heats up.
"We start on a beautiful woman. She's joined by a man. It's clear they know each other, unable to keep their hands off each other," Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) narrates over clips of picturesque rooftops of Rome and Emily and her new Italian beau attending a party.
Scenes of the couple's blossoming romance follow, with them sharing a kiss. Emily's friend Mindy (Ashley Park) then tells her, "Rome looks so good on you."
Emily's other coworkers also appear in the Italian capital, which leads Julien (Samuel Arnold) asking, "If we're all here, who's in Paris?"
In an article on Netflix's Tudum, creator Darren Star said that the upcoming season is a "tale of two cities: Rome and Paris."
"Straddling both, Emily takes love and life to the next level."
The fourth season of the series saw the expat hitting things off with Marcello and then move to Italy to open an office for Agence Grateau in Rome. However, Star noted that this doesn't mean Emily won't be in Paris anymore.
"Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily, because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work-life balance," Collins said.
Absent from the trailer are Emily's former flames Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), who have been confirmed as part of the season 5 cast. Bravo previously said that he felt "finished" with the show as it did not "stimulate" him as an actor.
Also starring are Philippine Leroy-Bealieu, Bruno Gouery, William Abadie, Thalia Besson, Paul Forman, and Arnaud Binard.
Emily in Paris season 5 will stream on Netflix on Dec. 18.
