Watching new and classic Filipino films just got easier as the Film Development Council of the Philippines is set to launch the app version of its official streaming platform, JuanFlix, this September.

In an announcement, the agency detailed that they will release their "biggest drop yet" on Sept. 27.

"We meant it when we said we’re just getting started!" it wrote in the caption.

"From a curated collection of restored classics and rare finds from our archives, to the freshest and boldest narratives from the next generation of filmmakers that go beyond the country’s borders," it added.

While it wasn't specified how the app can be downloaded, it's expected that it will be made available to Android and iOS users through the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store, respectively.

JuanFlix is a streaming platform that offers quality content for local and international film enthusiasts, learners, and filmmakers. It boasts a "careful curation of homegrown and world cinema that inspires, enriches, and challenges perspectives."

The platform has a library of free content that you can access by registering for free. But to unlock all content, you must pay a subscription fee worth P49 per month or P349 per year.

Some of the movies you can watch on JuanFlix include That Thing Called Tadhana, Bulaklak sa City Jail, Himala, Ganito Kami Noon Paano Kayo Ngayon, and more.
