Chie Filomeno says she's in her 'healing era' after breakup

Chie Filomeno has once again sparked discussion online, dropping a lengthy, cryptic post that hints at the reason behind the breakup and a painful betrayal from a former friend.

In a post shared on her social media, Filomeno contrasted her current state with someone else's, writing: "It’s a trend to use songs, since that’s what you have been doing. So might as well. It’s your sad boi era, [I]’m in my healing era."

While wishing that person "all the best," the actress also explained, "I didn’t want to teach him how to love me — that’s unfair, so unfair for both of us. We deserve so much better, we all do."

However, Filomeno also revealed the deepest sting came from an individual she refers to as a "so-called friend."

"What stings more is that a so-called friend, who knew exactly how I was treated during the relationship, still chose betrayal — even using the internet to attack my character," she wrote.

The unnamed friend was accused of inserting herself into the situation despite claiming she "does not want to get involved," and then failing to take "accountability" when confronted by the actress.

"Mind you, she said she does not want to get involved, but did everything to insert herself in the picture that she shouldn’t be a part of. And when I finally stood up for myself and confronted her, no reply, no accountability," she claimed.

Despite it, she said that "life is still good."

"Standing up for myself because I know my worth, I’m finally being treated the way we all deserved to be, and I am surrounded by people who truly know me and got my back. Grateful for all of you, on to the next chapter. I hope you find peace," she said.

While the actress did not name the ex or the friend, the post has drawn attention following her split from Jake Cuenca.

The two publicly confirmed their relationship in 2023. But earlier this month, Cuenca confirmed that he and Filomeno have ended their romance after dating for two years, but assured fans that he is doing well.

"It's a lot to take. Ang daming nangyayari, ang daming sinasabi ng mga tao. Siguro, I can officially say that that chapter of my life is over now," he said.

"To be honest with you, I can at least say that I really loved that person deeply. Yeah. And for me, I respect that person to today," he added.

The local star went on to share that "had a lot of time to process everything and accept everything."

"'Di ba, 'pag mahal mo naman talaga ang isang tao, you wish them all the happiness in the world, and you want them to be happy and you want them to be loved as well?" Cuenca said.

Last week, Filomeno also shared a cryptic post, saying, "Lagi naman ganun, no? When you finally stand up for yourself, some people will still find something to criticize or belittle you. If I stay silent, I’m guilty. Tagal niyo na ganyan—kahit anong issue, kahit sinong artista—wala pa rin kayong pagbabago hanggang ngayon. And then if I speak up, kasalanan ko na naman or i’m guilty.”

Social media users allege that the post may be about Sofia Andres, who unfollowed Filomeno on Instagram and posted a cryptic message on Threads.

An Instagram user tagged the latter saying, "[M]ay sinasabe oh," to which Filomeno replied, "[H]indi niya makikita kasi blinock niya ako and I didn't unfollow her."
