South Korean actress Kim Jin Kyung and soccer goalkeeper Kim Seung Gyu are expecting their first child!
The model-turned-actress announced her pregnancy in her acceptance speech at the 2025 SBS Entertainment Awards, where she took home the Top Excellence Award for the Reality category for her role on soccer variety show, Shooting Stars.
“I think it’s time for me to take a short break from the soccer I love so much. A healthy baby is growing well inside me. While it makes me a little sad to step away from soccer for now, I’ll return even healthier," she said during her speech, as translated by K-media outlet Soompi.
She also expressed her gratitude to the show's production team, her teammates, family, and her husband, Seung Gyu, who plays for South Korea's national team.
The couple announced their marriage in August 2024. They often share their moments together on social media, as seen on Jin Kyung's Instagram account.
Jin Kyung competed in Korea’s Next Top Model 3 in 2012, where she placed as a runner-up. She later debuted in acting, having played roles on Andante, Perfume, and was a part of the variety shows Kick a Goal and We Got Married. She's also an ace player on Shooting Stars.
Meanwhile, Seung Gyu is a professional soccer player. He played under Al-Shabab FC in Saudi Arabia, and recently joined FC Tokyo. He's also a part of South Korea's national team.
