Ned Fulmer, a former member of "The Try Guys," has finally broken his silence about his cheating scandal

The YouTuber opened up about the scandal for the first time in three years, saying he's "ready to share my story and to move on into a new chapter.”

In 2022, he admitted to having "a consensual workplace relationship" after fans spotted him getting cozy with Alexandra Herring, an employee of their production company.

Speaking to PEOPLE Magazine on Sept. 16, Ned said he went on a social media break after the cheating issue came to light. “For a long time, I wanted nothing to do with social media or the internet,” he said.

“I didn't think it was particularly beneficial to my mental health," he added.

During his hiatus, Fulmer shared that he tried to fix things by being completely honest with his wife, Ariel.

“That was most devastating to work through and to realize—how much pain I had caused her,” he told the outlet. “If I were looking at a past version of myself, how I’d really want to change [is] the way I’d been interacting with her.”

The content creator added that they also sought couples therapy, which helped them build a new "foundation of trust."

“It’s certainly stronger than it was before. We have a much clearer sense of boundaries—understanding and respecting each other’s boundaries—as well as integrity and being direct with each other, even when it might be unpleasant," he continued.

While he "cares deeply" for Ariel, a spokesperson for Ned confirmed that they have separated after 13 years of marriage, according to reports by PEOPLE and TMZ. They share two children together.

Fulmer is also returning to content creation with a podcast, Rock Bottom with Ned Fulmer, with Ariel as his first-ever guest.

"The Try Guys" announced Ned’s exit from the group on Instagram in September 2022 amid his cheating scandal. “As a result of a thorough internal review, we do not see a path forward together,” they wrote in a joint statement at the time, thanking their fans for their support as they “navigate this change.”

Ned first appeared in a "Try Guys" video in September 2014, while the group was still working under the entertainment company BuzzFeed. They later formed their own production company, dubbed "2nd Try," four years later.
