BLACKPINK's Lisa recalls 'uncomfortable' encounter with stalker who tried to get in her taxi

BLACKPINK member Lisa recalled a traumatizing incident in her life where she had several "uncomfortable" encounters with fans who didn't seem to respect her privacy.

In her guest appearance at Thai radio talk show WOODY FM, the K-pop star was asked whether she had any encounters that caused her to become anxious. She then revealed details of a terrifying stalking incident from the previous year.

"It was the first time I actually experienced it myself. I’ve heard a lot about it from other idol friends, mostly from male idols. But it just happened to me," Lisa said.

She continued, "Usually, when my flight lands in South Korea, fans will be there waiting at the airport. That’s normal, and I appreciate that they come. But when I got home, I saw them waiting."

The White Lotus star feared for her safety because she lives "alone" in a house with low walls.

"I told that person, 'I’m really not comfortable with this. If you want to see me, let’s meet somewhere public. Showing up like this at my house, I feel uncomfortable,'" she said.

"And that person came at night. After I checked my CCTV, I was scared to go outside. And that's when I really started to worry because I was completely alone. I was scared. There was no one with me," she added.

But things didn't end there, as Lisa experienced another incident with an obsessed fan who tried to get in the same vehicle as her.

"There was this one time that really terrified me. I was leaving my house to take a taxi to a dance rehearsal because my manager couldn't come to pick me up," she recounted.

"But then, that person tried to get into my taxi by sticking the leg between the taxi door," she continued. "I don't want to go into too much detail, but it was something I never experienced, and I didn't know what to do."

The music artist stressed she "had no idea how to react" and that she was "scared because that person was way too close."

It wasn't just fans in South Korea, Lisa said. She even had a stalker at her place in Los Angeles. Because of this, Lisa was left feeling anxious whenever she was alone.

"To be honest, I didn’t know how I should feel. But I did feel like I was scared to be alone. I felt unsafe, even though Love, my dog, would bark. There was a period of time when I asked my female manager to accompany me. It was terrifying for a 20-year-old girl who lived alone," she confessed.

"I try not to be alone, but it’s not always possible. I can’t always have someone staying over every night. They eventually have to go to their homes, too. I haven’t found a smooth solution yet. I’m still stressing about this. What should I really do?" she lamented.

Her trauma has also caused her to be wary of fans who approach her to secretly take pictures, fearing they intend to harm her.

"I know my fans are very sweet. They always respect my space and just check in on me. But when something like this happens, it makes me feel not secure," Lisa said.

Lisa stars in the third season of Max's The White Lotus, where she plays Mook, a health guru working at the Thailand branch of the hotel.
