Camille Co clarifies she's not related to controversial political family
Camille Co is setting the record straight, clarifying that she is not related to content creator Claudine Co, whose name has been tied to controversial flood control projects.
On X, the lifestyle content creator and entrepreneur expressed the emotional toll the situation has taken on her, emphasizing that what began as a harmless mix-up has become deeply stressful.
"It may have seemed funny at first but these past few days have been so stressful. I've been dragged into this mess so unfairly—not just with the mistaken identity but also asking me to be accountable for people I have zero control over," she began.
Camille also highlighted her 15-year career, emphasizing the effort she has poured into building her reputation from the ground up.
"I started from zero. Never hinged to anyone for fame or clout despite various opportunities to do so. Never tried to climb the social ladder. … I like working diligently and quietly in my own way," Camille explained, emphasizing her preference to stay away from unnecessary controversies.
For people who still don’t get why I have to keep clarifying my name. Hindi ko rin to ginusto. pic.twitter.com/X7RTtc8pQv

She also noted that attention caused her anxiety, especially since it had reached audiences beyond her usual community.
"This is what I do for my family. It may be just a side hustle for some, a way to flaunt their lifestyle or gain fame, but not for me."
She stressed, "This is how I pay for our house, food, staff, my kids' education, everything. This is my livelihood. And my livelihood is so closely tied to my name and reputation."
Addressing suggestions that she should simply change her surname to avoid confusion, Camille rejected the idea.
"Why will I allow these people to take away my name that I worked so hard to build and protect? I refuse to let them take my name from me," she declared.
Despite the frustration, Camille expressed gratitude to friends, fans, and even strangers who have shown support and helped clear her name online.
"Thank you to all my friends and even strangers for sending me heartwarming messages of support and most of all, helping me clear my name on these posts. You don't have to but you do. So thank you," she said.
'[I am] just a hardworking queen'
The statement was released as Claudine faced online criticism for her lavish lifestyle amid a flood control controversy her family is involved with.
However, some social media users mistakenly assumed that Camille, a Filipino-Chinese who started her career in blogging in the early 2010s, was the same person.

I am Camille. Not Claudine. Spell it with me now: C-A-M-I-L-L-E.
Also, Google is free. (Unlike those people’s corruption-funded shopping sprees.)
Camille previously addressed the issue platforms, noting that she "is not an heiress" but just a "hardworking [queen]."
"Imagine my surprise opening my TikTok and discovering a ton of comments because of the viral Co's. I'm not related to them nor do I know them. Why naman Lordttttttt," she wrote on X.
Camille added, "One last time for the people in the back: I am Camille. Not Claudine. Spell it with me now: C-A-M-I-L-L-E. Also, Google is free. (Unlike those people's corruption-funded shopping sprees.)"
