Fitness influencer dies at 30 after binge-eating challenge
A 30-year-old fitness influencer died after taking on a binge-eating challenge to promote his weight-loss program.
As reported by Daily Mail, Russian influencer Dmitry Nuyanzin spent weeks eating 10,000 calories a day to gain 25 kg, which he planned to lose to inspire his clients to shed weight.
Nuyanzin eventually felt unwell, so he cancelled his training sessions to see a doctor, but he died in his sleep due to heart failure before his checkup.
On Nov. 18, Nuyanzin shared that he had reached 105 kg, gaining at least 13 kg in one month.
In his challenge, he promised to pay anyone who weighs over 100 kg and would lose 10% of their bodyweight by New Year.
"My WEIGHT LOSS COURSE is starting soon, where you can win cool prizes and, most importantly, build a beautiful body, learn how to eat and have fun!" he wrote in an Instagram video. "I’m going to be losing weight with my minions, so this will be twice as exciting!"
He also detailed his cholesterol-filled diet. "For breakfast, I have a plate of pastries and half a cake. For lunch, I usually eat 800 grams of dumplings with mayonnaise," he said. "During the day, I may snack on crisps, and for dinner, I have a burger and two small pizzas, either at a café or delivered."
According to Daily Mail, the fitness enthusiast went to Orenburg Olympic Reserve School and the National Fitness University in St. Petersburg, where he worked as a personal coach to elite Russians for a decade.
Nuyanzin enjoyed posting health and fitness content on Instagram, where he garnered over 40,000 followers.
He is survived by his wife.
