Korean star Koo Hye Sun now has a master's degree
Korean actress Koo Hye Sun has completed her master's program!
The K-star excitedly shared the news in an Instagram post as she shared her graduation photo and gave a look at her thesis submitted to the Korean Institute of Science and Technology.
"Passed my master's thesis and graduated early. The warm wraps have arrived. Next up.... Doctor (?! ).... A must win!" she captioned her post.
In a previous Instagram post, Koo revealed that her eco-friendly hair roller, "Kurool," was selected for the 2025 Excellent Patent Award. The product, which was launched during her master's program, is said to eliminate the use of plastic by 80% compared to conventional hair rollers.
Koo debuted in the entertainment industry as a commercial film model in 2002, starring in roles in the 2004 sitcom Nonstop 5 and the 2009 drama Boys Over Flowers, where she played protagonist Geum Jan-di opposite Lee Min-Ho's Gu Jun-Pyo.
According to The Chosun Daily, Koo stopped studying to give way to her showbiz career. In 2020, she re-enrolled in the film and media studies department at Sungkyunkwan University and graduated with top honors. In 2024, she pursued a master's degree in engineering at KAIST’s Graduate School of Science Journalism.
