Korean dating show contestant under fire over past adultery allegations
A contestant from a Korean dating show has been accused of adultery, prompting the show to take action.
The production team behind SBS's Match to Marry: With Parents released a statement on Jan. 20 regarding the allegations against one of its contestants.
“The production team also only recently became aware of this fact,” they said. “The contestants’ contracts stipulate that they guarantee that they have not been involved in any social controversies in the past, including crimes, adultery, or school violence, and they also include a penalty clause for violation.”
They added that they plan to "edit out footage of the contestant" for the remaining episodes.
“We are currently in the midst of internally discussing further response measures,” they ended.
This follows a report by the JTBC current affairs program Crime Chief regarding a woman in her 40s who was shocked to discover her husband's alleged mistress appearing on a dating show.
According to the broadcast, a divorce court ruled that both the husband and the woman were responsible for the breakdown of the marriage.
Match to Marry: With Parents is a reality dating show where ten singles looking for spouses stay in one location for six days, accompanied by their mothers.
