Elon Musk is first person worth $600 billion—Forbes
Elon Musk just became the first person ever worth $600 billion (P35.2 trillion).
According to Forbes, this comes after reports that his startup SpaceX will go public by 2026 and will be worth $800 billion (P46.9 trillion)
SpaceX's value would boost Musk's wealth by $168 billion (P9.8 trillion), leading to an estimated $677 billion (P39.7 trillion) as of Monday, Dec. 17. Musk owns around 42% stake in the space company.
Musk's fortune was also strengthened by his estimated 12% stake in electric vehicle maker Tesla, as it rose by a percentage this year amid declining sales.
The businessman's artificial intelligence company xAI Holdings is reportedly raising new funding, valuing it at $230 billion (P13.4 trillion), more than double its $113 billion (P6.6 trillion) valuation in March when he merged the startup with his social media company X. Musk owns around 53% stake in the company.
Musk is the first person to be worth $500 billion (P29.3 trillion) and exceed that amount, Forbes added. He is also closer to becoming a trillionaire, doubling the wealth of the world's second-richest person, Google's Larry Page, who is worth $264 billion.
At the start of the second Trump administration, Musk was tasked to head the US government efficiency department, a post he left in May.
