Ariana Grande gets charged by man during 'Wicked: For Good' Singapore premiere

The Singapore premiere of Wicked: For Good turned tense when a man jumped the barricade and rushed toward Ariana Grande on the yellow carpet.

In a video captured by PhilSTAR L!fe on Thursday, Nov. 13, Grande—who stars in the film as Glinda—is seen with her co-stars Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, and Jeff Goldblum when a man with a blue hair streak in a white shirt and shorts goes to her and grabs her from her side. Erivo quickly steps in to protect Grande while security pulls the man away from the cast.

Grande, visibly shaken by what happened, continued to walk on the yellow carpet in the middle of her co-stars.

The incident prompted the cast to head straight to the stage, avoiding stops to greet fans. The man later moved to the pen and made an "L" (loser) sign while smiling as the crowd booed him.

The man again rushed toward the yellow carpet in an attempt to reach the cast, but security stopped him and immediately escorted him out of the venue.

Social media users were quick to recognize the man as Johnson Wenn, also known as "Pyjama Man," who infamously carried out the same attack on Katy Perry in June and The Weeknd in August.

Wenn, who describes himself as "troll most hated" in his Instagram bio, also shared a post on last night's incident on Instagram with the caption: "Dear Ariana Grande Thank You for letting me Jump on the Yellow Carpet with You."

The internet isn't having any of his trolling and condemned his actions in the post’s comments section.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot…and how aren’t you in jail?" an Instagram user wrote.

"Are you happy now? Does it bring you joy to disturb celebrities? That’s sad," another one commented.

"You’re the reason why we get less appearances in Asia," commented Filipino celebrity Darren Espanto, who also attended the same event.

The Wicked: For Good cast later held a handprinting ceremony on the yellow brick road in Resorts World Sentosa as part of the pre-screening activities. The Wicked-themed installations will be up until Jan. 4, 2026.

Wicked: For Good is coming to Philippine cinemas on Nov. 19.
