Khloe Kardashian gets stem cell treatment
Khloe Kardashian just got a stem cell treatment aimed at enhancing her overall well-being.
The reality television star shared her "most incredible experience" from her recent Mexico trip, where she underwent a muse stem cell treatment.
"I received a muse stem cell treatment from Dr. Khan (sweetest/smartest guy). I work out 5 days a week so having something to help with recovery, inflammation and overall wellness, is next level. Not to mention the bonus of anti-aging (maybe my favorite perk)," she wrote.
Multilineage-differentiating stress-enduring (Muse) cells are a pluripotent and non-tumorigenic subpopulation of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs). According to Cleveland Clinic, MSCs "appear to function to limit inflammatory tissue damage and promote tissue repair, including in the central nervous system."
The health information website noted that while there are commercial “stem cell” clinics in other countries, it is not advisable to receive such treatments due to "lack of quality control, lack of regulatory oversight, and lack of any validation of their efficacy or safety." Further research on the procedure is still ongoing.
"I’m in awe of the science and so hopeful for the future. My dream is that one day treatments like this will be accessible and affordable to everyone, everywhere," said Khloe.
Khloe's sister, Kim, earlier shared that she took the treatment for her shoulder injury and chronic back pain that she has been suffering with for years.
"The Muse stem cell treatment was a game-changer once again. I experienced relief right away, and the unbearable pain is finally gone," she wrote in an Instagram post. She also noted that it may have a different effect on everyone, and advised her followers to do their research and consult with medical professionals.
