Mexican beauty queen Fatima Bosch just made her country proud as she was crowned Miss Universe 2025.

After besting 119 other delegates at this year's coronation day on Nov. 21 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Thailand, Bosch succeeded the reign of Denmark's Victoria Theilvig and will now carry the responsibility of inspiring millions around the world.

Meanwhile, Côte d'Ivoire's Olivia Yacé was named as fourth runner-up, the Philippines' Ahtisa Manalo as third runner-up, and Venezuela's Stephany Abasali as second runner-up. Thailand's Praveenar Singh secured the title of first runner-up in the competition.

Difficult childhood due to ADHD and dyslexia

Bosch, 25, has been open about the challenges she faced as a child, as she has ADHD and dyslexia.

In an interview with Mexican outlet Ahora Tabasco Noticias, the beauty queen explained that she had to follow a lot of rules as a kid, even though she didn't quite understand them.

"It was study for 30 minutes, and from there, I did 20 minutes of this. I went to my tennis class, and from there, I came back. So as a girl, I structured my brain to be able to do everything," she said in Spanish, as translated by Meta.

"I love it and I consider that everything worth it has to have a structure that you have to follow daily, because if you follow the steps, whatever the result is, you feel good because you know you gave it your all," she added.

Fashion designer at heart

Bosch has long fostered a passion for sustainable fashion and the arts. She studied fashion design at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico and attended the Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti in Milan.

A report by Hola! also detailed that she makes clothes that "revitalize discarded materials, merging artistry with purpose."

A champion of women empowerment

Bosch’s personal journey through adversity has become the backbone of her advocacy. Having grown up feeling underestimated, she now dedicates her platform to ensuring other women never feel the same way.

During her closed-door interview with Miss Universe, she said that she wants every woman and every girl to know that they're enough.

"I want people to know that there is beauty in their [souls]. Don't be afraid to be yourself because nowadays, society puts a lot of different stereotypes on us, and we're not that," she said.

"We don't need to change to be something special, so I wish I can bring love to the places [where they are suffering] and be the light to the lives of others," she added.

She was able to speak on her advocacy further during the final question-and-answer portion of the final competition.

"As Miss Universe, I will say to them, believe in the power of your authenticity, believe in yourself. Your dreams matter, your heart matters. Never let anyone make you doubt about your worth because you're worth everything. And you are powerful, and your voice needs to be heard."

A queen who doesn't back down

Bosch also proved that she is a force to be reckoned with, as she did not let any form of belittlement against her slide.

This was demonstrated when she stood up to Miss Universe Thailand National Director Nawat Itsaragrisil after he had reportedly called her “dumb” for not following through with an obligation of the competition, and wanted security to oust her from a pre-sash ceremony.

"I just want to let my country know, I'm not afraid to make my voice heard/ It's here stronger than ever. I have a purpose. I have things to say," Bosch said in an interview, translated from Spanish and shared on Instagram.

"We’re in the 21st century. I’m not a doll to be made up, styled, and have my clothes changed. I came here to be a voice for all the women and all the girls who fight for causes and to tell my country that I’m completely committed to that," she added.

After a confrontation with Itsaragrisil, she walked out of the event, which prompted her fellow beauty queens to do the same.

Itsaragrisil has since apologized for his actions.
