Janella Salvador slams 'bothersome' homophobic remarks from LGBTQ+ members amid third-party rumors
Janella Salvador expressed her disappointment over homophobic remarks from some members of the LGBTQ+ community amid third-party rumors.
"It’s bothersome how sometimes those who are part of the LGBTQIA+ community are the ones who come up with the most homophobic (lesbophobic, even) comments," she wrote in an X post.
"Criticism and opinions can be thrown without making unnecessary remarks about personal preference, appearance, and how people choose to comfortably present themselves. Not to mention those of you who laugh along with the colorist and misogynistic comments. Backwards much?" she added.
Janella has been accused of being involved in the breakup of Open Endings co-star Klea Pineda and Katrice Kierulf. She previously addressed the allegations during her interview on Bianca Gonzalez's Cinema One talk show The B Side, saying, “Both parties have already answered the question. So, kung ‘yun pa rin ‘yung iniisip niyo, so be it,” Janella said.
Earlier in September, the Darna star broke her silence on the rumors.
"Hindi po ako part nung breakup, hindi po ako third party. I'd like to exclude myself from that," she told the media during a Cinemalaya event.
Klea, in August, dismissed speculations about Janella's involvement in the breakup.
"[Ako] na nagsasabi mismo sa inyo na walang third party na nangyari," the actress told the media during GMA Gala 2025. She explained that she and Janella, as well as their co-stars Jasmine Curtis-Smith and Leanne Mamonong, have gotten close during the filming of Open Endings.
Meanwhile, Janella previously hinted at the real score between her and Klea.
"Nakikita niyo naman kung gaano ako kasaya. Hindi ito 'yung tamang venue to talk about personal matters pero kung ano 'yung nakikita niyo, 'yun na 'yun," she said at the launching of Cinemalaya 21.
"Kung ano 'yung nakikita niyo online or kahit saan, 'yun na 'yun, basta masaya kami together," Klea added.
Klea confirmed her split from Katrice in July. "Mutual decision 'yung nangyari," she said. "Umabot na kami sa point na gusto niya unahin 'yung sarili niya. Gusto ko rin naman unahin 'yung sarili ko this time."
She also denied at the time that cheating was the reason behind their breakup.
